Team3S: Ctrl arm install

a new control arm on a 92
stealth DOHC (front driver side). How hard is
it, and are there detailed
directions? I am only 18 and not exactly a
mechanic, do you think I could
to it? Also are there any pictures of
the install process that anyone has
taken?

Well..., asking a question on a
summer Friday won't exactly maximize the
number of replies you get...
;-) But...
In the meantime, go to our Search page and enter
"control arm" (use the
quote marks). It will pull up almost 30 pages
from our Archives. You can
start reading through them to see if there
is any info to help you, or a if
there's a reference to a website with
greater detail. Ideally, you should
have the repair manual if you
intend to do any work on your own - there are
step-by-step instructions and
diagrams to guide you. Where to get the
manuals is explained in the
"Basics" section of the FAQ pages. You can also
get Vineet's "Manual on
CD" - that address is there too.

Team3S: Signs of turbo failing...
What are some signs of a turbo dying...
I was driving this weekend and
when i shifted to second and stepped on the
gas the car started
stuttering and eventually shut off while i was driving...
It happened
about 4 times that day until i finally parked. Also i haven't
driven the
car for three weeks prior to that and as soon as i got a car wash
this
problem started happening. Once the idle starts dropping to zero even
if
i floor the gas pedal there is no RPM responce it just falls to zero
and
the car shuts off.... Does anyone know what can cause this...
Thanks

I had a similar thing happen.
Check to see if it blows black smoke when you
start it (you may have to floor
it to keep it running). If so, you've got
an airflow problem.
Check all your intercooler piping, air intake piping,
etc. Best of
luck

Team3S: Wheel Spacer Clearance
All,
I'm trying to determine if a
new set of 18 x 8.5 x 42mm offset wheels is
going to clear the top of my
fender. As it sits right now, the outside
edges of the wheel is nearly
flush with outside of the top of the fender.
Does anyone know if our tires
actually extend up underneath the wheel well
under full compression. It
seems like a silly question, but I would think
that anyone running 1/2"
spacers on the front hubs would run into fender
clearance problems if this
were the case. Any help would be
much
appreciated.
Regards,
DaveT/92TT

Team3S: 1992 Stealth Long Block
There have been two posts as of late
regarding availability and costs of
new or replacement motors for
Stealth's. I believe the first was a dead
91 and
yesterday a soon to be
retired 93.
I have a 92 Stealth 3.0L DOHC Twin Turbo Long Block with 52,000
miles.
The
engine requires only new main bearings to be 100% road ready.
Crankshaft
was machined prior to my decision to go with newly
remanufactured Long
Block
from Recon Engines in Philadelphia. If anyone
has an interest let me
know.
You are welcome to call and visit with my
local Dodge Garage/Mechanic
about condition of original 52k mi. engine. New
Long Block with 3yr 36k
mile
warranty ran me $3400.00 +
freight.
Would ask $900.00 for Long Block, and you pay shipping (COD).
When you
consider what a new crank alone costs the $900.00 is a
bargain.
Email me for my home phone # and Dodge Garage/mechanics phone
and name
if interested.
Thanks.

Team3S: California NASA Racing Event Photos Discount
Courtesy of Head-On
Photos and SpeedToys.Com!
As part of Speedtoys.Com's efforts to make the
grassroots/hobbiest racing
events more affordable, we now offer bulk
discounts on photos purchased
from Head-On Photos. Head-On Photos photographs
almost every NASA event in
Northern and Southern California. They get to
photograph from spots you
and I only dream of! Shortly after each event the
photos from the events
are posted at: Head-On Photos website. The photos are
sorted by Day and
Run Group to make it easier to find a great picture of your
car.
Here's the deal:
If we get 10 photo orders for an event, everyone
gets a discount. 20
orders is a bigger discount! Photos must be ordered
within one month of
the racing event. Orders placed after that time will need
to be purchased
from Head-On Photos directly at full price.
Discounted
prices are available for 8x10 prints only.
10 orders = $25 + tax each, 20 or
more orders = $20 + tax each. Paypal
fees are also added to cover the
transaction cost (2.2%, about the same as
accepting a credit card
itself..which we dont)
Since we don't get the discount unless there 10 or
more orders, we will
not process any transactions until the end of the one
month window. At the
end of the window all people that sent in 'orders' will
be notified of
their cost, then we'll collect the $$.
