| Old is on the left, new is on the right. You can't see light through the fluid at all, even with a flashlight directly behind the fluid. It's sort of an olive/brown color, and seems to have similar viscosity to that of new fluid. Also, it smells very similar to new fluid - it doesn't have any appreciable burnt odor to it. The fact that it's so dark does concern me a bit - I wonder if it's getting too hot or something? Perhaps one of the Shockproof products would be better? | |

| Old is on the left, new is on the right. You can see a little light through the fluid with a flashlight directly behind the fluid. It's not quite as dark as the transfer case fluid, and it does still have some of the red dye left in it. There is no appreciable difference in odor or observable (but nor measured) viscosity between the used fluid and new fluid. I did; however, notice slightly improved shifting with the new fluid - synchronizer engagement is now a little smoother. | |

| Old is on the left, new is on the right. As I expected, this was the worst fluid of the three. You can't see any light whatsoever through the fluid, and it's a very different color than new fluid. It didn't smell particularly different, and when I poured it from my collection container to another container, it didn't seem all that different from new fluid as far as viscosity. Even so, I think I need to change my rear differential fluid a little more often... | |
