Bizarre question for the list, but a question nonetheless. I have a friend

over in airframes who's afforded me the opportunity to get steel braided

lines for my entire car. If there's a hose he can get me a steel braided one

to replace it. Now my question is what are the sizes and lengths of all the

hoses in a N/A version of our cars? Or where could I find a listing of all

the diameters and lengths for these hoses? Thankx everyone.

Ahhh....  there are so many to even start thinking about....  the only

way to do it would be to pull off one or two at a time...  the important

ones (At least in my drag-prepped talon) were the fuel supply and return

lines in which I replaced the factory (small) with -8an supply and -6an

return...  Other than that, you are on your own (and -8an is overkill

for a non turbo car)..

Erik, please forward this to Todd too :

Thanks for the sales information from Todd and please let me comment some

stuff here.

I understand "something" about brakes and how to brake with different cars.

I installed some Mov-it, ap, wilwood, Brembo, Porsche and others on

different cars and design brackets on CAD by myself. Also I'm in contact

with the government for stress testing and so on.

I again read the "washers" thing !!! "The bracket can simply fit say

12-13.5" rotors depending upon the spacers used". This is the biggest no-no

in brake design and everybody who does this on his car sets himself and

others into huge danger. It is necessary to sell brackets with different

sizes that fully fit the caliper/rotor design and not an universal bracket.

Is it worth saving some $$ and risk someone's life ?

All I read out of the information is that the kit is good for the

lightweight Eclipses. Of course it will also fit the NA's although this car

is more heavy than the 4bangers. With larger rotors, the untouched area of

the rotors of course increase. With a 13" rotors the untouched area is

about 0.5 Inches ! I do have such a rotor in my shop and I tell you it is

heavy like hell becausei tuses the same small hat as the smaller dia ones,

like Todd explains. But this is not what should be a target. For them the

larger hat should be used as this makes the whole rotor more light and

therefore reduces the unsprung weight. This is important for people who run

heavier cars like the 3S and even the VR4.

After reading all that stuff I can say that the kit is good with the 12.2"

rotors and can be used on the NA's. It should work fine as an NA user will

probably not go to the circle tracks anyway. It will increase bracking

power for sure. But don't go larger unless a one piece bracket for larger

rotors is made and the unsprung weight reduced. For the 3S turbo cars the

4-pot kit is not an option. The 6-pot is fine and can be used with the

smaller rotors too but this will not give you the best braking power. 12.6"

is good up to 13". But then try to get a rotor with a larger hub where the

small wilwood brake pads will have a better fit. The pad area should be 1

mm at the outside of the rotor and around 7mm on the inside.

Keeping these factors in mind when drawing a kit will result in the best

available braking kit with all the necessary problem areas covered on a

reasonable price. A well designed kit with cheap parts like the wilwood

caliper, three different sized brackets and three different sized rotors

should cover all needs and will only cost a $100 more due to the right

fitting. I'd pay that 100$ instead of installing washers...

Quick note - Eclipse / DSM's aren't exactly light..... My AWD weighs 150

lbs. MORE than my non-turbo 3000GT.... granted I have done some

lightening mods to the 3000, it would have been almost identical weights

without...
