Do you also have stiffer springs?

For the record, I also have upgraded both front and rear sway bars and I find the ride on the street in "Tour" to be a little stiffer, but still very acceptable.  "Sport" mode on a crappy road is kinda rough, but that's what the ECS button is for :-)

BTW, a lot of my web pages are currently inaccessible (it's not the whole site or the DNS because some pages work).  Geoff said he's working on it (it affects team3s, speedtoys, and probably other sites, too)...

Ahh, that would make plenty of difference :-)  I have the stock ECS springs/shocks/struts.  I would think that upgraded sway bars in addition to stiffer springs would make things a lot stiffer and probably more uncomfortable.

I am at a loss norm. Perhaps someone else with more experience with the mods
you have made may help. I run completely stock. I'd check all your vacuum
lines and electrical connections to the tranny and the engine. It may be as
simple as a loose vacuum line. Without the vacuum sensors working properly
you may get a real problem from just a mole hill of a cause.

Keith

Norm,

What does the engine sound like? Is it reving high but you still are not
moving fast? Define "crawl". Have you checked your fluid level? It could be
that your tranny is slipping and may need repairs or your torque converter
is failing. Neither is a quick cheap fix. You could also have a problem with
your OD. Does it do this when your OD is off?

Stay off the loco weed. It is your GC's not the anti-sway bars making
you ride rough. My ride didn't change at all with the stock suspension.

I've had the GC's with stock antisway bars, and the ride is rougher with the oversize antisway bars and the GC's.  No loco weed necessary for you, Mr. Rocky Mountain High!

I recently called Norco to purchase a full gasket set, but we found
after punching through some numbers that it's almost $100 cheaper to buy
a head rebuild gasket set, and then buy the extra gaskets needed for the
bottom end separately.  Talk to Dave at Norco - that's who added up the
number for me.

Subject: Team3S: Advice on buying a used 3000GT SL...

Hi All,

I'm considering buying a used '96 3000GT SL, and it'd be great to hear any opinions or advice you might have for me - what to look out for, etc. I personally emailed Bob Forrest about this, and he gave me a few helpful tips in what to look out for, but he also encouraged me to send out an email to the entire list, so here goes...

'96 SL
panama green
112k miles
timing belt and water pump replaced at 68k miles, 4 years ago when this
current owner bought the car.
earlier this year replaced tires and brakes.
mechnically/cosmetically car in "excellent condition"

asking: $5000

Aside from the 120k tunenup, is there anything I should be looking out for? I've never owned a 3kGT so I'm a bit nervous in terms of what to watch out for in a used car... especially a car like this one.

As for the 120k tuneup, I was looking at www.groundzeroperformance.com for reference, and they have listed 3 stages of tuneups - basic, intermediate and deluxe. I'm assuming I'd need at least the intermediate tuneup... or is it time for something like the deluxe? here's the sample parts lists for each tuneup kit:

basic: Timing belt, water pump, timing belt tensioner, tensioner pulley, and idler pulley. $305

intermediate: above plus: thermostat, accessory belt, power steering belt, spark plugs, spark plug wires, fuel filter, and oil filter. $505

deluxe: above plus: oil pump, related oil pump gaskets, and a new oil pickup tube $700

Prices listed are for parts, not labor, of course...

Thanks in advance,
