Team3S: Oil temperature gauge?????
An EGT gauge would be the proper way to get the additional information that
you are looking for. An oil temp gauge is useless for determining how well
your mixture is set. If you were to run too lean and get detonation, the
oil temp gauge would never let you know. If it did, it would tell you long
after the damage had been done.

Team3S: OT: National Gathering 2004
I don't really care WHERE it is, so much as WHEN it is. I have to
choose
when I'm taking my vacation for ALL of next year by November
2nd. I'd like
to include the Gathering in my vacation plans, but they
seem unable to post
dates on the website.
#1 Does anybody here know dates yet?
#2 Does anybody here know who to ask?
Please respond privately, I'd really rather not start a thread on
this.
Thanks in advance,

Team3S: Rotors
Try some after market rotors/pads, you may have better luck.
Geoff or
others on this list have offerings.
Its totally bogus to say they can't be turned. Maybe I'm just lucky
with brakes, but my NT went 30K miles on stock rotors and pads.
Finally
switched only because I started Open Tracking and wanted 'new'
for those
outings. I usually swap the 'race' designated parts in a week
before
tracking, sometimes leave them in a week afterwards.
So, after 70K miles I am STILL on my stock (turned once) rotors
for
street use! I use Stillem MMX pads on the street. Maybe you just need to
bleed a
little more often? I don't know if air in the system can cause some
residual
pressure, which could hurt rotor and pad life by dragging.

Keep the oldies for spares at least, get them
turned at leisure.

I have a spare front or rear cover+harness,
$5 bucks or a double
margarita, your choice.
Send me a pvt mail if you can't find or fix it locally.

I've got a 91 R/T NA and am about to have the transmission fluid changed
for
the first time since purchasing the car. I've looked through the
archives
and the best fluid that most of you tend to say to use is
redline.
This is my daily driver though and I was wondering if this is the
fluid
you'd recommend for my car also or is this just the gear oil that most
of
you use that race your cars? If it's mostly just for the racers what
other
gear oil would you suggest. And finally if you'd still recommend the
redline
do any of you know of a dealer or store that would carry it;
otherwise I
know I can order it online-would just like to be able to pick it
up locally
if possible.
------------------------------
By the way that is a store or dealer that would be in the Sioux Falls
SD
area that I was wondering about.

Re: Team3S: Manual Tranny Fluid
I just rebuilt my tranny, and I used valvoline 80w90. It shifts like a hot
knife through butter. I'm draining the fluid tomarrow since I just hit 500 miles
and I'm going to try my friends suggestion of going with 10w40 motor oil. I've
driven his car and it shifts smoother then mine so I figured I'd try it, it
isn't too tough to drain and fil the tranny anyway. All that is on a VR4 by the
way, not sure if it is totally applicable to an N/A or not however.

No electrical power
OK guys I have a 92 VR4 with absolutely no electrical power, no dome
light,
no seat power, no ignition power, and no accessory power. I went up to
the
store turned off the car and went to move back the seat and noticed
it
wouldn't move so I tried to start the engine but no go and had to have
it
flatbeded home. The only unusual thing that happened earlier in the day
was
the check engine light came on so I stopped to check it but could not
find a
problem and the car was purring great as usual, now it's totally dead!
Any
Ideas? Please Help! Tom
