I heard you, Jack. I am determined to make this upgrade work. These brake
upgrades are not as simple as they initially seem. The rotors took way more
time than I expected. It's personal now! Road America is also my timing
goal. I plan to have a production intent prototype there. Not pretty
and
ready for sale but as close as it could be. With parking brake, special
rear rotor hat and everything.

Intermittent Misfire of cylinder 1-4
Ran into a similar problem lately with a 28 year old Pontiac
V8.
Compression is not really that high on the motor (9.5:1 after
the
rebuild last summer), but still I filled up at a gas station I
don't
usually use (Philips 66), from the 92 octane pump, and could barely
get
the car home. I ended up using NOS brand nitrous-methane-based
octane
booster (the "racing" formula) for a week until the tank was low
enough
to fill it with Amoco 91 octane, and whaddyaknow? The car runs
great
again. Happily doing burnouts and embarrassing younger, sportier
cars
(and younger, sportier drivers, too).

93 VR-4 (and 76 Grand Prix, too)
P.S. Not sure what using the nitro-methane blend would do to a 3S
car,
either NA or Turbo. The bottle has a lot of warnings about
potential
gasket and seal (modern materials) failure, stuff I don't have to
worry
about with a nearly 30-year-old motor using all silicone and
metallic
gaskets.

Team3S: Windows won't roll up
Ok guys, I'm an idiot. I pulled my motor outta my car a while back
and left
the windows down. Now I need to put them up. SO I hooked
up the battery
today(still with no motor in the car). Everything came
to life. The radio
works, the dome lights work, the door locks work,
but the windows WILL NOT
work. I'm certain that it is not the
fuse. The battery has good juice.
The "window lock" button is
off(disengaged). What are some other
possibilities? Is there a
way to hotwire them so that they are the only
thing working? Can anyone think
of a way to manually crank up the power
windows if it comes to that?
The biggest question is. WHY DIDN'T I PUT THEM UP IN THE FIRST
PLACE!?

Re: Team3S: Windows won't roll up
Does the key reminder still work when you leave the key in and open
the
door? If not then the ETACS unit is not powered (via the IOD or
STORAGE
CONNECTOR in the engine compartment. The ETACS turns on the
power window
relay.
If you can find the relay try shorting pins 4 & 5 (the 2 big ones in
the
base of the T shape group of connectors) or grounding pin 3 (top right
of
the T, note pin 1 & 5 are connected to the battery so don't make a
mistake
on pin 3!) or power up the ETACS.

Team3S: Manual boost controller installation
Hi: I have a 92 VR4. Just bought a manual boost controller & waiting
for installation. The instruction comes with it says connect one end to the
boost source, which is no problem. The other connection connects to a tee from
the wastegates.
I also see Roger Gerl's web site
says connects the boost controller before the stock solenoid boost
value.
The instruction from the manual do not use
the stock solenoid & need to cap it closed. Roger use the stock solenoid as
before. May be both of them will work but which one is better?
Thanks! Anthony
