I had the same problem on the line going to the cooler I replaced the lines
with earls perfmo-flex hose + fittings and a earls cooler.   We shall see
what happens since I never got to test out the new set up.

....And some days the bear eats you.

 Today, I'm feasting.

Thought I'd let you guys(and girls) know that after almost a week of wondering, my transfer case that began leaking on me last Sunday (one day after the gathering, woohoo!), will be replaced under the terms of the transfer case recall.  Dreams really can come true!!!

Seems, that there was a stress fracture in the case that turned into a big-ol' crack.  The dodge dealer tried to claim that this was as a result of being dropped or damaged in an accident(.......what? did you expect anything less than them trying to weasel out of it?).  But after some careful words, they agreed to replace the thing because the damage that they indicated was the cause of the leak was no where near the crack.  (FYI....The "damage" they referred to was a scrape on the bottom of the x-fer case likely caused by me sliding it on the  garage floor under the car while removing or installing it....so be careful with this).

Just thought a little positive news might brighten everyone's day....it sure did mine!!!

Subject: Team3S: weird throttle behavior

Hey guys,

2 days ago, for the first time in 4 years, my Y-pipe blew off at a measly 13PSI at the top of second gear as I was pulling away from a Tran Am :(  I put the Y-pipe back on and tightened it, but I turned down the boost to make sure the Y-pipe doesn't come off again until I have a chance to inspect the rubber seal, and maybe get a better clamp.  The car seems to run fine now, expect for one small hick-up, and it could just be a coincidence.  If I floor it (I tried 2nd and 3rd gear), say from 2000 RPM to about 6000RPM, and I let go of the accelerator, the accelerator gets stuck at full throttle.  The first time it did this, it scared the crap out of me, since I was in 2nd gear, and you can imagine that when you let off the throttle at 6K RPM and press in the clutch, and the RPM just shoots to redline and stays there, and you have no idea why its happening, ... luckily I got a hold of myself and turned off the engine.  If I try to turn it on right away, it still has the throttle at 100%, and I just have to shut it off again, but if I wait like 5~10 seconds, it returns to normal.  The symptom is fully reproducible, since I did this about 5 times within a 30 minute period yesterday.

First question, could there have been any damage by running the car at redline (bouncing off the rev limiter) in neutral for about 2~3 seconds (until realized I need to shut off the engine); this only happened once, since the other times I was better prepared and I managed to shut off the engine every time before the engine reached the rev limiter.

Second, could this be related to a leak in the system, like the y-pipe, or is it just a coincidence and the solution is to lubricate the throttle cable, or replace it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just make sure the throttle valve and all the cables are moving, not
binding and not catching anything. This should not be related to the Y-pipe
blowout unless you sucked in some junk into the throttle body while the
Y-pipe was off, like a piece of rubber from the Y-pipe seal or some small
animal. :-)

I've seen several posts saying that the Y pipe gasket gets sucked into
the throttle body and causes the butterfly to hang up.

Yeah I agree with Philip on this one... pull the y-pipe back off and check the throttle blade.  Manually pull the cable and find where the bind is. The only other possibility is that the cruise has lost its mind and is turning on, but I don't expect that.  I think a small piece of rubber got bound in the throttle blade.

Thanks to all for responding so quickly! ...  It ended up being a piece of rubber from the seal that was hanging by a thread to the seal and was interfering with the butterfly operation.  The car works perfect once again!  Thanks.
