Team3S: My car ate the Y pipe
If you have them on a website, I'll bet a lot of us would
be
interested. Otherwise, I'd be interested in seeing
them
personally. What boost pressure have you tested the kit to? This
uses the stock 'Y' pipe?
Thanx,
geis

This kit goes for $18

RE: Team3S: My car ate the Y pipe
Are you sure those were 560's? When I put in my 450's I played around
with turning off the S-AFC correction. I could drive it, but it ran
ungodly rich and constantly tried to die at idle if I didn't modulate the
throttle. 560's with no fuel controller? No way. Maybe you had
extraordinarily low fuel pressure, or your 560's were terribly
clogged.

My car ate the Y pipe
This is a new product that we are producing. I have gone
through the
frustration of having my own ypipe blow off
under, what I consider, normal
driving conditions. The
more it blew off the worse the gasket got, to the
point
that it would not hold at all. I replaced it with a
piece of
silicon hose connected from the ypipe to the
throttle body and as long as
boost was extremely low it
held fine for about a short time but because of
the way
that the ypipe is made the clamps squeeze the ypipe and
the
silicon hose works its way off.
The solution that we found was to back up the Ypipe with
a steel ring
that does not allow compression of the end
of the ypipe. This steel ring is
the same OD as the
inside of the ypipe end and the same ID as the throttle
body (in order to maintain the tightest possible fit and
eliminate air
restriction)We tested this on a VR4 for
about a month at boosts up to 15 PSI
and were pleased to
find no movement or signs of leakage. We also tested it
off of the car, using an air compressor, pressure gauge
and some
plumbing fixtures. We were able to apply as
much as 40 PSI of constant
pressure for a period of 1/2
hour with no sign of failure to the kit.

Team3S: RESOLVED: Idle Speed at 1200RPM
Welcome to "Why does my car idle at 1200RPM?"
I'll take Door Number 2, Bob - what did I win?
Well, Erik, you've won your very own out-of-alignment Closed
Throttle
Position Switch! And you can adjust it for free by loosening
only two
bolts!
Thanks for all the suggestions, guys. I had previously
pressure-tested the
intake system to ensure that I have no leaks. The
coolant temp sensor
checked out ok - I just read the voltage at the ECU (pin
83, B-W). Next on
the list was to check the CTPS (pin87, Y-R) and sure
enough, it read 5V all
the time. I adjusted the sensor by turning it
until it had continuity at
the appropriate position. The car now idles
at 700-900RPM, depending on
engine load. Yay!

'95 VR-4 that idles correctly now

for the Fog/Driving Lights
OK gang, now that I have the 99 Conversion parts ready
to install, it's
time to start shopping for new
fog/driving lights.
I am not about to pay Mitsubishi their ridiculous
price for the stock 99
lights...
Anyone have suggestions for nice looking fog lights
for the 99 front
end?
Thanx

Roger,
Mitsu calls their stock lights fog lights when they are in fact
driving
lights. Do you want to put in fog lights or driving
lights? Fog lights
are yellow/amber (in America) and disperse under the
fog or snow or rain
in a wide beam and driving lights are white and usually a
projection
beam or very bright beam. In Italy however, headlights are
yellow and I
assume fog lights are also yellow - but are their driving lights
white?

RE: Team3S: Now for the Fog/Driving Lights
In Europe all 3000GT got high beams in the place of the fog lights (only
first generation) and this makes the night to day :-)
Regarding the yellow lights in Europe this is not standard at all and are
pretty well removed from the market. Some older cars are still using yellow
fogs and/or headlights. It was once standard for France not Italy. The
driving lights are know as position lights here and must be white and small
(like a small bulb in the headlights).
I'd suggest to get the Hello Xenon Micro DE lights, either the high beams
or the fog lights.

Can anyone recommend a quality bodyshop in San Francisco? Has anyone
used
any sort of "dent wizard" type repair? I have a cantaloupe sized dent
in
my front driver side fender as well as major scratches on the door.
Thanks
