Re: Team3S: Parking break light
You may want to try and adjust your
parking brake. Check and see how much
play there is between when you pull up
on it and when it makes the first
click. Watch and see if, during this play,
the light comes on.
When I would launch my car at anything above 3000k,
my parking brake would
pull up the first click or so until I got it
adjusted.

Team3S: steering angular velocity sensor fault
well, I got the magic
"21" on my ECS for my '93 VR4 which indicates that my
steering angular
velocity sensor is bad. Manual shows it mounted under the
turn signal
under the steering column cowling. Also has a big SRS warning.
Anybody
changed this one before? Am I likely to blow the big airbag,
or
what?

Does anyone have an idea of how much our

weigh? I need to know if I should put
a Momo wheel on my list of things I

Re: Team3S: VR-4 stutters heavily when cold, runs perfect when hot,
stumped
I just tested my engine temp sensor last week. Here is how
I did mine.
If you are going to check your temp sensor then they are
located just under
your ignition coils. There are 3 of them
there. The one closest to the
front of the car with a single wire to it
is the one for the guage on the
dash. The one in the middle is for the
ECU and the one farthest back is for
the AC. The one you want it the
middle one to the ECU.
You will have to drain your coolant before you
pull the sensor. Once you
get the connector off, it just takes a 19mm
socket to get the sensor out. I
personally hate these Mitsu connects
with the clips that the factory loves
so much.
You can test the sensor
pretty easy.
First get a tray or glass of ice water. Ice water is
exactly 32 deg F.
Place the sensor side in the water but not the connector
side. The
resistance should be around 5.8 kohms.
Get a
thermonitor that reads up to 180 deg F and a small pot of room
temperature
water. Put the thermonitor and sensor in the hot water.
Adjust
the water temp by heating and dropping ice in the water until it is
around
68 deg F. Resistance should be around 2.4 kohm.
Now
empty the pot and get some hot tap water. Let the tap water cool
some.
When the water hits 104, the sensor should have a resistance of around
1.1
kohms.
Now take the pot to your stove and heat it with the
thermonitor in it until
it hits 176 degs. Resistance should be around
.3 kohms.
If any of the readings deviate greatly, replace the
sensor.

Buzzing Noise
Hi Everyone: I just bought a 92 VR4 on May and I got
a
very strange buzzing noise once a while. It sounds
like I didn't take
the key out when the key is in the
key hole. But I got this buzzing noise
when the car is
runnung. It's sounds when I hit the gas pedal or the
car
is in motion. Beep. .. .. ....... e.g. running on
a little rough road.
After a while it change to
non-stop even I stopped the car. I have to stop
the
engine for a while and start again then the sound will
go away. The
next time it happen again by chance.
About one of 3 times. But my car still
runs even with
the buzzing noise. Also, the ECS indicator is
flashing
"TOUR/SPORT" all the time. Sometimes when I start the
car the
"TOUR" light is on, I can only switch it to
"SPORT", otherwise the
"TOUR/SPORT" will flash.
However, it doesn't look like they are related
because
that sound can happen in both situations.
Thank you for reading this long story. I already
ask a local garage I used to
fix my old Supra. But he
got no clue about the
VR4.
Can anyone give me some
help!
Anthony

Re: Team3S: Buzzing Noise
First, try to find where this buzzing is coming
from. The location should
tell you what to check. If it is coming
from your dash, then maybe
something is making the door buzzer go off.
It could be an electric motor
that is stuck.
As far as the Sport/Tour
light flashing, it could be that one of your ECS
connectors on one of your
struts is corroded or a wire is fraid.

Steering wheel weight
The weight savings would be minimal --- maybe 10
pounds if you removed all
of the sensors and computer along with the wheel
and airbag. I've got a Momo
wheel installed on my 93TT and by modifing the
momo adapter I was able to
save the cruise control. I have pictures if you
care.

ABS
Thanks for the different advice regarding the tires and ABS. I'm most
likely
going to go with all-seaon tires because we just don't get enough snow
here
to purchase a set of winter and summer tires(although I might be
jinxing
myself !!).
As far as the ABS goes, the Mitsu dealer told me
that the ABS was exposed
to water that got inside the computer and the
Modulator. I don't understand
how that could have happened unless it was
faulty to begin with.
Does anyone know if the ABS assembly from a 94
Stealth RT TT is compatible
with the 97 VR4? I was contacted by someone
that mentioned that they have
this part available. If not I will give M&S
a call and see what they have.
Thanks for your
help!

I got my car back from being rebuilt about a

I
asked about this a few weeks back, but now with the motor broke in I
would
like to get your feed back and get this taken care of this

I guess I should have been more specific. I'm actually

The only ones that I
saw on tirerack for what I am looking for was
Michellin, Sumitomo and
Yokohama.
Any advice??
