Team3S: Damn Getrag !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well,not only is the transfer
case leaking like hell, now the 2nd gear
sync.has gone south on me.I haven't
even had the nerve to shift hard,as
the transfer case had been welded, and all
of at once it won't go into
2nd without grinding,unless I'm under 30mph,then
it shifts fine,up or
down.Guess thats what I get for buying a used trans and
transfer,with
the only guaranty being that it wasn't a piece of shit!Damn I
hate to
pull it again, but maybe I can make a good one out of my old one and
this
breaking one.Might have to nurse it trough the winter tough as
it's
gonna be a front yard job this time.Wish I didn't love these cars
so
much,I'm getting sick of this crap!
RICK
'92 R/T TT 49,000 miles. 28,000 by the woman owner,who never took
it
over 65mph and managed to wear out only the clutch.Gotta love
Getrag!!!!

Team3S: HELP! Really High Idle
OK, well the lady has been giving
problems all along now this new one showed
up :( If I
start the car with the throttle body bypass valve plugged she
fires right up
but idles at almost 2K, on the other hand if I do not plug
it, she starts but
runs absolutely lousy (really rough idle) and then stalls
out.
Please Help, I have replaced all the vacuum hoses with Silicone
Hose (this
was done after the problem appeared) I also replaced the ISC to no
avail :(
My next thought is to replace the TB with the Dynamic
Racing/RE Engineering
Bog Bore Unit..... $250
Thanks

Team3S: brake upgrade for a N/T R/T
First and formost..I do not have the
resources to search through the
archives and need advice soon...I have a 93
NA R/T and now a totalled
92 TT sitting on the side of house...my intension
is to rape the
brake system off of this TT and put it on my R/T. now this is
for the
pro's who know....It's not like I can just take the caliper
off
..with rotor and slap it on my car can I. I see no reason to
change
the mastercylinder and stainless brake lines are on the "gonna get
me
some" shelf but other than rotor and caliper what else do I need?
is
there a braket on the strut or something....I am going to take
the
pieces off then ship the car off but wont get into conversion
till
december when the springs go on...so I need to know...please...do
I
need the struts and other pieces...and being a TT AWD AWS is this
even
compatable?
thanks for the help in advance....I will hit the archives
tonight at
home but want to know where to start and what to look for...all I
hit
last time was those lobster kits......

Steering knuckles, Calipers,

I would also go ahead and grab the entire brake line...

Why the steering knuckles?
Is the attachment point for the calipers
different on the
NA?
(Inquiring minds want to know)

RE: Team3S: VR4 trivia noise of the day
Permatex Belt Dressing $2.49 for
a little can. There is no more squeaking.
I inspected both belts
befoire. Couldn't figure out how to get my tension
tester on the
generator drive belt, but the tension in the power steering
belt was normal
for a used belt. Added bonus - the power steering works
better.
The belt dressing is sprayed on the working side of the belt with
the engine
running. You let the car idle for a while to let the
dressing
"cure". It makes a gummy mess all over tthe belt and anything
else it gets
on. Also, I'm saving up to have these belts
replaced. The generator belt
has crakes on the underside, althought the
power steering belt looks new.
Possibily, they didn't replace the generator
drive belt when they did the
timing belt replacement at 60K. I've had
the car three years and the
mileage is now about 93K.

When I was considering putting TT
brakes on my NT, Geoff told me that I'd
need to get TT/VR4 front hubs in
order to get things to fit. I don't know
if he saw your post, but Geoff
might have an idea or two. You never
mentioned if you had ABS on either
car - I don't know if that makes a
difference when trying to
mix'n'match...

Team3S: 6 Speed Conversion Problems
I have recently tried to do the 5 to
6 speed conversion on my 92 Stealth TT
and I am having some problems with the
shifting. It is very difficult to
get it to go into the 6 forward gears
and I can't get it into reverse at
all. I have the 6 spd tranny (brand
new from Kormex), transfer case, front
driveshaft piece, differential, lower
radiator hose, and shifter cables.
The new tranny did not come with some
parts so I re-used those parts from my
old five spd: shifter cable mount
bracket & L-shaped control arm. CAPS says
that the cable bracket is
different on 5 & 6 speeds and I can't find the
L-shaped arm in the
system. I also reused the shifter assy. The right side
shifter
cable is not adjustable on the new cables for some reason but it was
on the 5
spd. I can't find any interferences with the shift arm or
control
levers except that the L-shaped arm hits the top of the counterweight
when
it moves all the way forward. Anyone have any suggestions as to
what may be
causing my problems or what I should try? Does anyone know
the differences
between the 5 & 6 speed shifter, L-bracket, or cable
bracket? Thanks for
any help.
Brian Collins
