Cathi,

I don't know if you have a datalogger for oyur car because thsi would be the
a great tunign tool to get the most out of your car :)

As you are familiar with the DSBC, I'd suggest you to increase the limiter
as well to chaneg the limiting ratio as described on my page. Then increase
Gain to see if accelleration is positively affected. Usually, the smaller
the turbos the lower the Gain. For the 9b I'd suggest 15 or max 18, this
varies from car to car as well as on what elevation you live. Adjust RATIO
accordingly and always watch the boost above 4000rpm and check it out when
it falls off. With a highrr ratio, boost stays longer while a higher Gain
offers more overshoot after shifting. The later is not what we want when you
shift at extreme high rpm. Overboost around 3000-4000 is not a big deal as
there is enough fuel available.

BTW, the DSBC shows boost in kg/cm2 (1 kg/cm2 = 14.223 psi).
I'd set the limiter to 1.05 kg/cm2 with G16 and R40 for the first setting.
Increase R by 2 for the other 3 setting and check the max boost you will get
with this. Always look at the gauge at around 5000 and check the boost. It
is normal that it will fall off but try to find the right settings to have
no more overboost than 1.06 kg/cm2 but a steady boost of 1.0. This can be
achieved by having a low Ratio limiter setting of 2 or 4.

Hope this gives a little insight in getting the most out of the DSBC

If its the HKS "Sport Turbo" upgrade, then they are 13G's.  Not a lot of
bang for the big bucks that HKS sells them for (around $2700 - OUCH!).

The coolant level sensor is in the bottom of the overflow reservior.  It is
a float switch, and it occassionally gets clogged up with the brown sludge
that your antifreeze turns into after repeated regurgitations into the
overflow tank.  Remove the overflow reservoir from the car, dump it, and
wishy-washy, wish washy.  It takes a lot of sloshing and rinsing to get it
working again.

Aftermarket thermostats work just as good as the dealer's.

Hello,

<snip>
Does anyone have a "Step by step" guide on the HKS EVC IV similar to
the one that was just posted about the blitz? Is the installation
procedure similar?

Subject: Team3S: Lash adjuster redux

I have the typical tickering problem with the lash adjusters in my 91.
Since an oil change didn't immediately fix the problem I decided to pop open
the valve covers and have a closer look.  I need a little help on a couple
of things.  First, what is the right way to get the lash adjusters out?  I
got 8 of 12 out of one head by prying the rockers to one side.  4 out of 12
will not clear the cams.  How do I rotate the camshafts to get these
adjusters out?  I tried a 17mm socket but didn't have enough torque to move
it.  Is there a better way?

I tried to compress the lash adjusters to see if they are bad but I can't
budge em.  What is the right way to test the adjusters?  When reinstalling
the valve cover do I need a new rubber gasket?  Any precautions I should
take?

TIA

How about turning the crank to rotate the timing belt, and thus, all the
cams?  I do that frequently on my DSM...  All we do on those is put a 1/2"
ratchet in the crank nut and turn it.  Haven't looked at the 3/s cars yet to
see if they have the same ability...

Subject: Team3S: Mitchell Estimating Guide now available

Hello all,

I have made available pages from the latest Mitchell Collision
Estimating Guide for the 3000GT 1991-1999.

http://www.geocities.com/lutransys/blucius/b-2-mitchell.htm

This guide has exploded diagrams, part numbers, and suggested retail
prices for many parts for our cars. Parts such as internal engine
parts are not listed. It is not a substitute for CAPS. But it does
include prices - CAPS does not. These prices match exactly what I
have seen in recent invoices.

Thanks go to Dave Best for making these pages available.

Subject: Team3S: Carbotech Engineering and Stealth/3000GT Pricing

Dear Stealth/3000GT Community:

I received a request last week from a Stealth/3000GT community member
for pricing on custom pads from Carbotech Engineering for the 1991-94
Stealth R/T Twin Turbo.  I want to share this information with the rest
of the Stealth/3000GT community.

As a result of the good working relationship I currently have with Dr.
Charles Willis, I will be offering a 10% discount to Stealth/3000GT
community members for purchases of 2 to 4 axle sets (e.g. one set of
front pads and one set of rear pads counts as 2 axle sets).  If you
purchase 5 or greater axle sets, I will give you a 15% discount.

Additionally, if you would like to organize a "group buy" of 10 or
greater axle sets, I can work in a 20% discount.  In either case, just
be sure to mention that you are from the online Stealth/3000GT
community, and aks for Andie Lin.
