Subject: Team3S: Tuning a Blitz DSBC

My dad, Rich the "Old Poop," says that my 91 Stealth R/T TT is slower than his 94 Mitsubishi VR4.  He says that my boost controller is turned down way too much.

I have the warn limiter set for 1 bar, and the ratio is at 49 and the gain is set at 13.  I do not have an aftermarket boost guage so I don't know what the PSI/boost pressure is.  (The boost guage WILL be here eventually...)

Can anyone give me some ratio and gain settings that will give me some good boost?  At least up to stock so I can beat the "Old Poop!"

I am just learning about this Blitz Boost Controller, and I have read the instructions that I downloaded from a website.  I don't fully understand what I'm supposed to be looking for.

Help!

Hello,

There is a boost meter built into the DSBC... check
out RogerG's site on tuning and using the DSBC..

Subject: Team3S: Team 3S: Question about HKS EVC IV and 300ZX

Hello,

This is my first post on the list so I hope im doing it correctly. I have
two questions actualy.

Does anyone have a "Step by step" guide on the HKS EVC IV similar to the one
that was just posted about the blitz? Is the installation procedure similar?

and second,

I'm in the process of trying to decide between a highly modded 400hp 300ZX
and a 3000GT VR-4 (BPU).. could anyone give me a comparison of the two cars?
Right now I have a 95 Base 3000GT and I love it.. but i need more power.
Right now it's almost up in the air between the Z and the VR-4.. theyre both
show cars and in excellent shape!

Thank in advance and Godbless :)

Jon

Subject: Team3S: Coolant light on, overflow tank at correct level, any ideas?

Okay guys, here's the problem:
My "Check Coolant Level" light is on.  I just flushed the coolant system a
week ago and that's when it started.  I was worried that maybe I didn't put
enough coolant in, but that doesn't seem to be the problem since the overflow
tank is up to it's correct level.
My first question is, where is the sensor for the coolant level?  Is there
more than one?  If there isn't and it's int he tank, the sensor's probably
broken, right?  If the sensor is somewhere else, then maybe it's my
thermostat.  If it were to not open, would it be doing this?  The other
possibility I could think of is that there is air in the system.  If that
were to happen, wouldn't it come out through the overflow system?  TIA to
anyone who helps me fix this.
PS  If it does come out to be the thermostat, can I get an aftermarket one
from an auto parts store, or do I have to go to the dealer?

The sensor should be in the tank ---- make sure the indicator light is
for coolant and not the washer bottle.

Paul,

My GT did the same thing.  My problem turned out to be the thermostat.  I
picked one up at Auto Zone for less than $10.  15K miles later, I haven't
had a problem.  Best of luck.

I'm coming in kinda late here, so maybe someone already said this. I'ts
easy to get the coolant and washer fluid lights mixed up. Maybe you just
need to add some washer fluid.

I don't think there is any way to pre-drill the bars --- when you
install the GC
camber plates you select your own positioning, there is no template, so
the
plate can be in relatively random locations with respect to the factory
mounting
holes.

I have pictures of my setup if anyone cares.

I don't know where it is on the 3s but on my bmw it is on the cap to the
coolant reservoir. Just two wires that hook directly to it. The problem does
not sound like a thermostat or a bleed problem.

Anyone know the bolt pattern dimension for a 91 SL? Looks like it's close to
5 x 4 3/8" or 11mm, but I'm not sure.
