Team3S: looking for easy way to add oil to manual trans/xfer/diff
With
the wonderful advice of fellow list members, I ordered the RedLine gear
lube
so I can change the fluids in the manual trans, xfer case, and
rear
diff.
But I was wondering if anyone could offer suggestions on an
easy way to add
the lube to the units ? It is a pain trying to squeeze
thick fluid into the
fill plugs while under the car.
Anyone know of an
easy way to add the fluids ?
Thanks

At most auto parts stores you can get a cap that screws onto the
fluid
bottle and has a twist-valve and hose on it. Get one of those,
and if you
want to easily do it from above just get more of the hose and you
are all
set. They are usually pretty cheap (under $10).

Team3S: '94 3000GT Headlight Condensation/Pealing
Has anyone successfully
dismantled the headlight assembly on a '94 3000GT to
clean behind the
glass?
A mechanic a Mitsubishi dealer told a friend of mine a while back that
it
could be done. I've asked the dealer recently about the procedure,
but know
one recalls a fix or the particular mechanic is gone. I do
know the
assembly can only be ordered complete at about $458 each with the
Team3S
discount. Also, if new ones are installed are they just as prone
to leaks
as the old ones?
I would be interested in any failed attempts
also!

A real
cheap way is to get about 4 feet of plastic tube (1/4 to 3/8 inch).
Stick one
end in the tranny, the other end in a funnel, and start filling.
Takes a
little while, but works.

I've got an even better way. I use the tube off the
coolant overflow
bottle. Ya know the tube that just sits there not
connected to anything.
It fits in the tranny fill plug perfect and is
just long enough to run up
through the engine and put a funnel on the top
end.
They make those push pump things that probably work better.
Where you suck
up the fluid out of the bottle and inject it into the
tranny.

Team3S: BOV alternatives to Greddy
I am looking into other BOV
alternatives instead of the Greddy that I
purchased. I do not feel
comfortable at the non-precise adjustment. I can
not hear the sound
over my Borla Exhaust, and since my car is still under
warranty, I can not
take the chance of installing this and ruining a turbo.
Because with this
installed, the repair will not be covered under warranty.
Are there other
BOV options ?
I had heard that a 1st gen BOV would work. Is this
true, and would it
require modifications or adapters ? Where can I get
one ?
Anyone want to trade or buy a new Greddy Type-S ?
I am not
running aftermarket turbo's or otherwise running other than stock
boost, so I
am just looking for the best alternative for this situation.
Any help
will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

94s were (I believe)
the only year you could get those headlights in glass. The next year they
switched to Lexan. The Lexan lenses don't fog up, but are prone to scratching.
They are also colored differently- the glass ones have a colored insert whereas
the Lexan ones are painted on the exterior.
OK. Having said all that-yes a
few people have successfully pulled the glass ones apart. They removed the few
clips there are and used a heat gun (or maybe even a hair dryer) to break the
seal between the plastic body of the headlight and the glass, Once apart, they
cleaned off the condensation and resealed using some type of putty or ribbon
that can be bought at auto paint supply stores (NOTE: I imagine you can use
Super Fast Urethane-a 3M product used to install windshields-but that stuff it
PERMANANT. It is VERY strong, won't melt and you'd have to cut it to separate
those parts again). Anyway, as I understand it the first one takes forever to
get apart, but the second goes much easier as you get a sense of where the
adhesive is and where you need to apply heat. I've heard that the condensation
comes back as this was a design flaw with these headlights. But, there are drip
holes that are supposed to expel this water. Someone siliconed those closed and
last I heard hadn't !

If there are drip
holes, why not apply a vacuum source to the drip holes?
This would suck the
moisture out. (sorta like an evacuation on the AC unit)
I could see this
as a fix, since you could buy a external pump (like what
was on the ~80's GM
cars) and apply all the time, or only on short periods
of time.
Engine
vacuum might work also.

I dont know about "clicking" but if it is a deeper
