Drive carefully -

My light went out 2 days before I was involved in a head-on collision, in which
the bag saved my life.

Best of luck

Subject: Team3S: SRS Light - off again after a week?

My SRS light came on when my battery died.  I replaced the battery, but the
light has been on ever since, about 2 years.  I tried everything to get it
to shut off: disconnected the battery for 1/2 day, turned the ignition on
and off 10 times, nothing worked. I finally pulled the dash apart and took
the bulb out.

What do the dealers know that we don't?  There is nothing in the service
manual about shutting it off...

I never heard that one ---- I would be very surprised if anyone other than the
dealer would source a limited production specialty item like these electronic
struts.   Let the group know if you find out differently.

Hello,

Thought I would say thanks for the work of putting up the Technical
Information Manual,
jeff. Regarding the etacs, some of the symptoms i've been experiencing sound
potentially
linked to the unit, but i've had other things to get to before handling
them. Namely, they
include the power windows which remain inoperable, the headlight doors which
remain up,
and the stereo which will not play tapes, cds, and the radio is rather
faint. A little advice,
if anyone has it, would be great.  And thanks for the tip on the hatchback
drain holes - all they
needed was to be cleared out, although i dont recall what was recommended to
use to snake
down in there.

thanks,
john 93 stealth es

If I could get a set of donor struts for a 94+, I'll send them off to my
contact at Penske Shocks. It will take him a little while, but he says he
can fit Penskes to our struts. They won't be ECS any more (at least I don't
think so, anyway). Anybody got a set of worn-out front and rear struts they
would care to donate to the cause?. I'll pay for shipping, the conversion,
and then track test them.  He's already said that he SHOULD be able to
modify a stock strut at a competitive price (less than or equal to GABs or
stock replacements). But we'll never know until I can find a set of struts
for him to play with.

What about 1st gens? Nobody can tell me if 1st gen struts will fit a 94. I
am not going through all this just to find that they won't fit my car.
Lots of people say they THINK it will work, but the fact is that the struts
changed model numbers just before 94, so something is different.

Wait a minute.  At one time, about two years ago, we were looking for an OEM
replacement strut for our '93 VR4 w/ECS and got one quoted from AutoZone at
cheaper than dealer price.  It was special order, but supposedly ECS
comaptible.  We didn't choose to replace the struts.

Were they stretching the truth?
