Alright........ For the 100th
time...... The application of aftermarket
springs have ABSOLUTLY
nothing to do with the electric sunroof!!!
This is how it
works..... Somewhere in the 95 model year, VR4s got rid of
there
manual sunroofs and ECS suspension. Electric sunroofs were used in
the
later model 95s that had no ECS suspension. After the ECS suspension
was dropped the spring design in the rear was changed. They used a
smaller
diameter spring in the non-ECS VR4. Because electric sunroofs
were used on
the non-ECS cars, the aftermarket spring makers are claiming
that there
springs don't work on cars with electric roofs.
I have a
95 Stealth R/T TT. But I do have a manual sunroof and no ECS.
Dodge dropped the ECS in all 95 Stealth TTs. Therefore I have the
smaller
diameter rear springs. I installed the Eibach springs, only to
learn that
the rear didn't drop at all. I ended up cutting 1.5 coils
off of the rears.
I'll probably switch to Ground Control in the
spring.
Your best bet for a 97 SL, is to either get Ground Control or
maybe the
Eibach springs for a base 3000GT will work. The Base 3000GT
never had ECS
suspension. (Unlike the 91-95 SL) So theoreticlly the
springs for the base
3000GT are probably the same as the non-ECS SL
models.
You could call your favorite Mitsu dealer and find out part
numbers, or use
the CAPS program to find out for
sure.

Unfortunately you'll get too much debris into it, especially

around). The NA cars do have enough room to run a duct to the

Really? I have seen cold air
test in SCC on ~hondas~ with gains from 5 - 10
hp from one air intake to a
cold air intake. 5 - 10 hp on a Honda can be
alot. That would be
worth it to do on a NA car with our limited upgrade
path as it is...
Didn't I hear somewhere 1 HP for every 10 degrees colder
air intake charge or
something like that? I mean - all it would cost would
be some rubber

An engine flush was done and I don't know
if they did a carbon cleaning but
I did one about 5000 km ago
the reason
for the engine being pulled is that we are having a full rebuild
( block
cleaned out bores honed , new bearings , block cleaned etc etc etc )
plus it
will give me a chance to do some detailing on the block heads and
rocker
covers as well as finally polish the inlet manifold
I had been thinking of
getting heads and induction set up from
altered
atmosphere

Attached is a photo of a prototype of a gauge pod I'm building
for
my 93 TT --- the prototype is painted black with gauges photos
pasted
on, the final version will be charcoal leather. I floated the
pictures
around a few months back to see if there was any interest
by others and got
almost no response. The pod is built for 60mm
gauges but of course smaller
ones can be used.

stock unit to a larger unit.
But as you say..if youre going to a larger
downpipe and cat-back, then
the obviouis choice is to get a larger
one.
But all I was trying to say as well, is that even on a bone stock
exhaust
(if someone is willing to stay that way) a new cat every 80-100k
can
really help.

been associated with the rear.
Has anyone ever installed springs/shocks on a
95+ with a sunroof? Do we have
any pictures to prove it? Sorry for all the
questions but I'm just tired of
my ride looking like I can drive over logs.
As far as I understand it there
are two separate problems here. One is that
the spring diameter needs to be
matched and the other problem being that the
sunroof might rattle. Is this
correct? Thank you!

Yes, unfortunately Rich is right as
I also had the very same ceramic
cat, very light but not worth any money. ATR
exchanged the cat
without any cost and I got the heavier metal cat. Please
note, the
ceramic one is 10 lbs ligehr due to the small two ceramic cat
pieces
at the in and out section of it. The metallic version now has a
full
metall part that flows well but is also heavier !

metal one is really godd and it is made my Random Tech. It is
available form
RT directly with different inlet/outlet sizes

It is just the cartridge for the 6-disc CD changer. The
Pioneer cartridges
fit the OEM changer and Pioneer sells a 3-pack of
cartridges in
Red/White/Blue which are identical to the black 6-disc ones
other than the
color.
They don't plug into the head unit, but do fit
in the 6-disc CD changer.
I'm not sure if Mitsu switched to a larger capacity
changer in the last few
years or not (I thought they did, but I don't know
for sure).

Thats right...
The 97-99 3000GT has a 10 disk changer. This changer is a
Mitsu brand
so its not compatible with others. The 6 disk changer found in
the
93-96 models is a pioneer clone. (CDX-M30)

then my Spyder VR4 with ECS should be

real variables are '95 or later

Check your
lower hose for a leak where it connects to the thermostat
housing.
Check the upper hose also. Start with simple/cheap things.
How
many miles on the car now? Also was the water pump replaced at 60
K? That
isn't always included along with the timing belt
change.

I guess the scanner just reports
what the computer "thinks" its going
on inside the engine (notice I used
guess as the keyword in that sentence).
Anyhow I ordered the O2 sensor
($58.80 special order) and will have it on
on Tuesday, Jan 9th. After
installing it I will get my friend to use the
scanner
again to see if
there are any changes.

Therefore, the intake tract on a Honda, is
purposely baffled and restrictive

The typical teenage driver is willing
to compromise this virtue to gain 0-10
h.p. by adding a cool looking intake
pipe with open filter and a big coffee
can exhaust tip. The key to all
of this is the open filter, which I am
quite sure will provide the 3000gt SL
an additional 5-10 h.p. as well. If
you could get a good
path for the cold air duct, you would be getting colder
air, but the intake
tract is made longer, which probably reduces the
effectiveness of it.
This is alot of work for just a couple horses at most.

According to the instructions with the NR
kit you are to remove the pin the
needle rests on. Then note the
location of the needle (it will drop below
the stop pin). After you
replace the gauge faces you install the needle in
the location previously
noted. Thereafter you glue the stop pin back. This
is a PITA as
it is hard not to destroy it while removing it.
It was not hard to
reinstall the needles in the correct location. When
done, I installed
the gauge cluster in the dash without the bezel. I then
hooked the car
up to a datalogger to read the RPMs and compare to the tach.
After that I
took the car out on the road and compared the speedo to an
identical
car.
