I was wondering if anyone knows the part number for the non-platinum
(inexpensive) plugs for a 92 RT/TT.  I can't remember which person it
was who has used them before (Jack T. or Bob F.)

Thanks in advance!!

My deepest condolences, Vineet.

If I recall (and please correct me if I am wrong), Mike Murray was known as
"Cometothezoo@aol.com".  He was also involved in the video you took in the
snow blizzard.  I also recall Mike Murray contributing to our 3Si/Team3S
mailing lists with valuable knowledge, feedback & support.

I never had the opportunity to meet Mike in person. I only heard of him from
you, Vineet; and and it sounded like you two were truly good friends.  About
a year and a half ago, I too had lost a good friend due to reasons I will not
mention right now; and no one saw the signs either.   My thoughts are with
you and once again, my deepest condolences go out to you and Mike's family.

I will try my best to attend the services tomorrow (Saturday 12-30-2000).

Ahmed.

3/S CD's and Curestrip shipments may be delayed a bit, until stuff

you knew Mike, his mother does not really know who his friends were,

To all of Mikes friends, here is the info I just recieved from Mike
Murray's mother (Caroline). She and her family would be grateful to

NGK model numbers are:  BCPR6ES-11 for stock heat range, BCPR7ES-11 for one
range colder than stock.  The part number for the 7ES is 1095 but I'm not
sure what it is for the 6ES.

I had a simular thing happen when my timing belt went
out. One day I tried to start my '92 stealth and it
kept turning and turning, but wouldn't start. The
dealer told me later that some of the values had broke
because of the timing belt, and that was the reason
for the lack of startage. At the time, I had just
bought the car from a private individual a week
earlier, and it had 51K miles on it.

I hope that this isn't the case for you, as it ended
up costing me $4000 in repairs. At least I can sleep
at night knowing the dodge dealership won't go out of
business anytime soon.

Subject: Team3S: I forward mikes mum's thanks to you all

I got so many emails, and tried to answer a few, but thought this
would be much better... (and easier for me to handle). I forward all
your heartfelt emails to Mike's mom...

This is from Mike's mom, some of you asked info for flowers and cards

Dear Vineet:
I received your email, thank you so much it really did help.  I only
wish
Mike was here to realize how important he was to so many.
The response has been amazing.  Anyone wishing to send flowers
or a donation can send it to the funeral home, they will make certain
it goes to the family.

As to specifics as to how, or why it happened, I don't think I can
talk about it anymore, nor do I think it's something for me to say. If
you knew him, please ask him mom. She really appreciates the fact that
he was well liked, and had so many people out there that at least knew
of him in some way or another.

If you want to send any emails, please mail them to Caroline at
jadeceo@aol.com (I have been forwarding all the ones you all have
kindly sent me to her, and she really appreciates it.

Thank you all so much.

Subject: Team3S: Pirelli snow tires

The snow tires finally arrived. Wow. All of a sudden the car drives like it
should. I'm pretty sure that the 18" wheels that were on it are bent or
something because the car wanted to wander all over the road with the 18".
Now (17" Mille Spiders w/ Pirelli Snow 210) the car drives straight down the
road. And the ABS hasn't kicked in since, even on ice!

I was beginning to think that something was wrong with my AWS...

Subject: Team3S: Just got a VR4...  Things don't look good

Guys,

I just picked up a '94 3000GT VR4 today (12/29).  It ran great through the
test drive, had records (full 60K performed at 52K), has new tires, and has
new paint.  The bad news is on the drive home it tried to and finally did
overheat.  I have been reading in the archives on what could have caused
this and what damage it could have done.  There are no visible leaks, but
the coolant was severely low when I got it stopped.  The heat hand was
fluctuating between normal and about 4/5 of the way up on the drive home.
It finally hit the red as I got off the highway (I assume thanks to there
being less air forced through the radiator) and the check engine light came
on.  I was hoping to limp it to a parking lot, but less than a minute after
the engine light came on the car cut off.  Soon there after the proof that
the car had run too hot poured out from the hood.  I sent my girlfriend to
get some water and waited it out.  Seeing as it is under 30 degrees here
right now the engine cooled off considerably quick.  When she returned we
cranked the car and started adding the water (as was the advice of my
father: "Never pour cold water in to a hot engine").  The engine knocked
rather loud for a short time then calmed down as the water was added.

I'm afraid that either the engine had damage prior to me buying it or I just
caused some serious damage.  After the water was added I was able to limp it
home and the check engine light never came back on.  I'm hoping this is a
good sign.  The knock is gone but it is producing a fair amount of smoke (it
was mixed in with the usual cold air exhaust clouds and in the dark, so I
can't tell you guys a color right now).

I have been reading on the archives about overheating and thus far I have
heard boiling over is something to worry about (as I knew it was) but I am
yet to see anything on exactly what may have happened to the engine due to
the boil over.  I'll keep reading in the archives and I hope to hear back
from some of you on this.

When I saw the heat hand start acting strange I suspected the thermostat was
faulty and planned to have it changed some time soon.  I never expected the
car to die before it even finished the 30 +/- mile trip.  :(

I got a great deal, now I hope things don't go down hill for me.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer me...

Subject: Team3S: rotors and pads

Hello list members.

I have a warped rotor, so in a month or two I will be ordering a new set of
rotors and pads. I decided I want to just go ahead and buy the best set
available. Which rotors would you all recommend? Any particular pads or just
the factory?

Please keep in mind that I need these parts for a *non*turbo and I would like
to spend something no higher than in the upper three figures.

I appreciate it!
