I would advise against it with the A/C intact.

As a sidenote..our project here will be using the Alamo dual-IC and pipe
kit, and should be sufficient for the road course work we (and yourself)
will be doing.

Subject: Team3S: Parts

I am in the process of updating my current modifications.  As a result I have
a list of parts I would prefer to sell as a group.  Altered Atmosphere has
dynoed several stock TT's and VR4's some with aftermarket intakes and cat
back systems and they have produced around 200HP at the wheels.  With these
bolt on's attached to my stock 1994 TT engine I was able to produce 464 HP at
the wheels which is enough HP to overwhelm most street cars including Vipers.
These parts are fine quality and in excellent condition as they have only
been on my car for less than 4000 miles.  I will gurantee their condition and
if sold as a group will sell for 50% of what I paid.  I am asking $4100 for
the entire group and the buyer is responsible for the freight.

Alamo Intercoolers

15g Turbo's (Ported and Clipped)

RC 560 Fuel Injectors

GT Pro Y Aluminum Y pipe (Never installed)

HKS Fuel Pump

Borla Cat Back System

Greddy Profec Boost Controler

Custom Pre-Cat Pipes ( Heat Coated and identical to the ones BE King had made)

G-tech Device ( Base line your current set-up and use to measure performance
gains from the bolt on's)

Please E-Mail me privately if you are interested.  Regards  Charles

Evenin' all,

I've been reading the archived posts about first gen. ECUs having
leaky capacitors. Where exactly is the ECU located?
Also , are there any magazines which cater to 3/S cars? It looks as
though publications such as 'Sport Compact Car' and 'Turbo & High-Tech
Performance' are geared more towards Hondas, Acuras, and the like.
       Thanks, everybody.

Rich,

I have the Alamo ICs installed (that Geoff is talking about) with a
GT-Alley custom 2" pipe kit. Check out the Mods page at my web site
for links to pictures. I have not done any temp/pressure measurements
yet to see what the performance is - it's on my list of winter
projects. They are about twice the size of the stock ICs and require
moving the oil cooler to in front of the radiator (FMOC?). This is
accomplished with the stock oil lines.

Subject: Team3S: Other front/rear diffs available?

I was checking out Mitsu's site below and noticed that final gear
reduction ratio is stated as much higher than what is available here
on "our" AWD 6-speeds: 4.155 vs. 3.87. Also they indicate a 5-spd MT,
that is different than ours, and a 4-spd auto in use on "their" AWD
cars.

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/docs8/productss/gto99/spec.html

Does anybody have any info on this?

If you want to learn more about our front and rear differentials and
the rest of our AWD system, please check out my new web page below.
Comments and corrections are welcome.

Hi everybody, I'm proud to be on this list!

Jim, I was amazed when I read your post. I have a black '95 SL with
A/T too, and I've had exactly the same problem for well over a year now.
When I drive at around 50 mph and the A/T is in fourth gear, and I push
the accelerator fully down, one time out of about six the same thing
happens you describe. However, it ONLY happens when in fourth. With
the overdrive disabled, it never ever occured (so 3-2 downshifts are
always perfect). I had the fluid checked and even had the fourth gear
parts replaced, but no change. The problem is more likely to occur
after driving the car and starting again in less than an hour.
During that drive, if it occurs once it either goes away (so no matter
how many times I try afterwards during that ride it shifts okay), or
stays and will do the bad downshift every time. There's no other
pattern as to when the bad shift occurs (hot/cold weather or engine etc.)
The MUT-II tester never shows any kind of error. My car has 33 000 miles.
I never experienced the other problem you describe. The bad thing about
this is that it might lead to very dangerous situations on the road when
I want to accelerate but can't. My situation is even worse because official
Mitsu dealers don't repair A/Ts here in Europe, since the '3000GT' means
the VR-4 in Europe, that was the only trim level they sold (or not sold,
rather, since those who had about 60-70 thousand US dollars for a car,
the price of the 3000GT in Europe, got a Mercedes or BMW or a used Ferrari
instead, that's why most of the few 3000GTs you see in Europe are private
import from the US or Japan). Besides, A/T cars are relatively rare in the
old continent.
In any case, if you manage to find out anything or if anyone has any ideas
please let us know! Could this be some inherent serial error?

Thank you and best wishes to all,
