Dont panic, its only in New Zealand. The New Zealand drag racing association
has just introduced new rules for safety for all sub13.00 second
cars.Flywheel shield,rollcage and driveshaft safety loop.well I think
they're a bunch of dickheads.I would like to know what equivalent rules are
in place in other countriesfor a similar situation

NHRA is much more strict.

However..I can see thier point of view on such "high" times to have such
things.

Too many kids doing the WRONG things with cheap parts causing all sorts of
hell.

My shifter has been difficult to get into reverse and now there is a big space
past fifth (up and to the right). This isn't a problem w/the Getrag I hope! How
do I go about investigating/fixing this problem.
Thanks

Jeff Young advertises on his web page that he will polish your intake plenum for $175.  This sounds like a lot of money but I am in the process of polishing mine and it is a long dirty process that I would not recommend to someone who does not have spare time.

See his webpage:

Hello all

Anyone know if there is software out there that allows us to hook up a
laptop to our cars?  I'm looking to parallel the functions of a
scantool, essentially.

Thanks in advance!

The TMO Datalogger works on the 1st gen cars with some exceptions.
www.tmo.com and some logs and diagnostics on my pages.
