I hate to say it but you need 94+ dust covers that go over the back of the
rotors too.  I am in the process of retool mine too.  I am not exactly sure
we need the dust covers but the 94+ rotors, being larger, don't fit in the
ones we have on our 1st generation cars.  So I am in the learning process
too.

I was even thinking of grinding the edge off the ones I have now but I am
first going to find out if the right ones will fit our cars before
destroying the ones that are on there now.

Dave Best

P.S. the 94+ rotors are about 3/4 larger than the 1st gens.

Hi all,

You don't really need the dust covers.   AND getting
them off of the rears is a PIA.

I just used a SAWSALL and cut the outter ridge off
leaving the rest bolted on.  A hacksaw will work too
but requires more muscle.

Yes, the factory lines will work.  But if you are
upgrading to '94 you should also consider upgrading to
Stainless Steel braded lines for BOTH rear and front
calipers.  You'll feel the difference in pedal
stiffness especially on road courses.

The 'rods' should come with the brake pads or they may
now be sold as a separate component with the shims.
Go to your nearest Mitsu dealership parts dept.  Don't
bother with Dodge as their supplier is Mitsu.  Dodge
is usually more $$$ too.

You MUST bleed the brake fluid.  Use Ford High
Performance DOT3.  Its the best boiling point
available and priced at about $4/can.  You should
flush the whole brake system  -- rear and front.  It
should take slightly more than one Ford can.

Good luck

and welcome to the 'dirty fingernail club"

Be of good cheer,
John
