Yes, the new lash adjusters do have a larger oiling
hole. I replaced mine
last summer and 20,000 miles later I haven't had a
tick.

Dave,
Mine does the same
thing. It happens once a month or so but after about 15 minutes it
goes
back to normal.
At this point I just live with
it.

Just had a new clutch installed in my '91 VR4.
The new throw-out bearing
squeaks and clatters just like the old one did.
(car at rest - shifter in

idling)
Squeeking goes away when I just start to depress the clutch
pedal, but the
rattling doesn't stop untill the clutch pedal is all the way
to the floor.
Car drives fine otherwise.
1) Are there any
adjustments to the clutch that will stop the squeeking?
2) Do the getrag
trannies start to clatter as they age? (mine has about 40k

Thanks.

Hello,
I need to acquire a new evaporator unit for
my 1993 Stealth. Does anyone
have a spare? Does anyone know what
these the cost is for these, new?
Also, what do I need to do to recharge
my car? Do I need to convert the
refrigerant? What is
involved?
I apologize for the number of questions, but I thought that I
could save
some bandwidth by sticking it all in a single
post.
Thanks!

Midwest Gathering update
FYI:
There will be 3000GT / Stealths
gathering at the Diamond Star Shootout in Norwalk,
Ohio July 21-23, run by
Buschur Racing. This is a great event, gets over 200 cars
every
year. Has DSM and 3S drag shootout on Friday July 21; Autocross and
Carshow
on Sat. July 22; All Import Drag Shooutout on Sunday July 23.
There are trophies
for winners-3rd places in classes, and some money/tires
given away to some
winners/classes too. We 3S are welcome, and have a
drag class; we autocross with
DSMs, and last year a 3S CONVERTIBLE came in
1st in class as I recall?!
http://www.buschurracing.com/shootout2000/Beeeeee
Theeeeeeerrre! It really is "The Drag Event" of the year dedicated
to
Mitsubishi/3S cars, and with autocross and all import shootout together is
some
concentrated fun. Besides my 94, from Wisconsin is (at least) a
99-converted 17G
turbo car, a 91 13 G car (both ARC 2 equipped etc); some
DSM's (naturally); and I
believe the Minnesota Crowd of 3S's will be there
this year as they were last
year...
Who else is planning to attend
this Macro Gathering??

What's with the fucked up gearing
in this car (5speed). I can lose my

Is there any
way possible to alter the gearing to a more normal level? I
think it would
help acceleration too. It's complete crazy that I need to
shift down to 2nd

Jack is right, this is THE premiere DSM/3S event
of the year. I've been there the last two years, last year with my Spyder
and the year before with my Eclipse GSX. Both years were great fun, and
the people there are very friendly.
I actually came in second in Stock
class at the autocross, not first, but who is keeping track? ;-) My
car will be a little less stock this year, so I'll be up against the top of the
DSM autocrossers, so the 3/S contingent will need support on the Stock end of
the spectrum. The great thing about this autocross is that it isn't
turbo-phobic like SCCA events - you can have boost controllers and exhaust mods
and such in the Stock class. If you modify the turbos themselves there is
a Turbo class, and if you modify suspension there is Suspension class, and then
the highest class is the dreaded Suspension/Turbo class where anything goes (and
does!).
This year I'll have my Spyder there again, this time with 15G's,
ARC-2, fuel pump upgrade, water injection, etc. Last year only three of us
3/S folks were there with cars (Del Kozinski (sp?), Oskar Persson and myself
with Jack giving great advice and encouragement). Last year the winning
drag time was a 12.6 or so, so if you can do better than that (and I know a lot
of folks can) then you should come on out and strut your stuff. Its a
great time!

There is no easy way to change
the gearing short of manufacturing new
parts. And yes you have to keep the
turbos spooled up to get decent
power out of these cars. The 6-speed gears
are more evenly "spaced".
I have charts of MPH vs RPM for 5-spd and 6-spd AWD
cars at:

What are the standard tyre sizes for the 1993

Mine has 235/45 17's fitted all round and I'm about to

not the
17".
At these prices I want to make sure I get the right ones

Subject: Re: Team3S: TRUNK
MIS-ALIGN SL AND KEYLESS ENTRY ON GALANT GTZ
There are two round rubber
stoppers under the trunk lid that are adjustable
by rotating them. They are
supposed to protrude nominally 17 mm out of the
lid. First check if one or
both are way off this measurement, and adjust if
necessary.
There is a
further adjustment to the overall height of the trunk lid, and it
is at the
latch, located behind the plastic panel at the rear of the trunk.
Adjustment
consists of loosening the whole latch and moving it up or down,
then
re-tightening. When I did this, I took off the whole plastic panel, but
you
may be able to access the bolts holding the latch by popping the two
plastic
discs that are vertical.
With a combination of the latch and the rubber
stoppers, you should be able
to get the trunk lid perfect.
For the
keyless entry, if it is like the 3000GT (and I am not sure it is),
you would
have to get to the receiver, flick a switch on it to the SET 1 or
SET 2
position, press any button on your new transmitter, and then move the
switch
back to the middle position.

Team3S: TRUNK MIS-ALIGN SL AND KEYLESS ENTRY ON GALANT GTZ
Hi,
I
was hoping someone might be able to help me, I have a 94-3000gt SL
and I
notice that my trunk is not flush with the rear quarter panels. The
left
side (driver) of the trunk is rise a half an inch and the right side is
flush? Has anybody had this problem also how did you fix
it?
Another question I just purchase a new Galant GTZ and I love the car,
my
question is does anybody know how to reprogram the keyless entry
system?
Sorry for the Galant question, i thought i would give it a
shot if anybody
knew the answer.
Thanks for any

Well the difference between 2nd and 3rd is too long but with the
boost
turned up and other mods this is not longer a problem. The japanese ECU
do
have the same program like the Aussie ones and timing as well as the
fuel
curve is different. This results in 280PS DIN and seems to be one of
the
"restrictors". A filtercharger and boost controller lets you forget
this
manko.
