I tried some searches, it seems to work fine.

Subject: Team3S: OIL level problem

Hello TEAM,

My brother (JOHN with a 94 TT -- Pearl Yellow) posted a while back on the
list a question about the oil level light coming on intermittedly, although
the LOW/HIGH graded gauge shows adequate pressure.  I drove his car for the
past 2 days and noticed that the dashboard red oil warning light only comes
on when the car is running at a stand still (like at a redlight).  I almost
want to say, that (correct me if I'm wrong) there must be more than one oil
sensors in this engine and that the one closer to the top of the engine is
malfunctioning (could be totally wrong here since I'm not a mechanic).

Has anyone had this problem before?  Does anyone know how many oil sensors
there are in the TT engine?  Can they be accessed easily?  The oil level is
fine and my brother uses 10W30 Mobil 1 synthetic.

Another problem:
This may have been answered by some previous posts in the past 2 days, but
I'm not sure.  In the morning, when the car is cold, I hear a ticking noise.
From what I've been reading on the list, this sounds like a noisy lifter
(maybe air under it).  I'll have to give it a try tomorrow by reving up the
engine to 2500 - 3500 rpm to see if it gets rid of the noise.

Another problem:
About the transmission.  It is awfully hard in the morning, or whenever the
car stays in one place for a long time, to shift in the gears.  I can barely
find them, I press the clutch a few times, and 3rd gear wants to grind on me
if I don't nudge it in REALLY REALLY carefully by feeling its way in.  I was
just wondering how normal this is?  This is a new TRANNY (10,000 miles)
changed by DODGE under warranty.

Also, I still hear the THUD when going in first every so often (more
accentuated in heavy traffic) although I adjusted the pedal up a bit (now it
doesn't catch in the last part anymore).  Ran out of ideas what to do about
the THUD (I really dont't like the dealers).  Do you guys think I should
change the rear differential oil on the car.  What oil viscosity and what
type?

Phewww.  All done.  I know these are a lot of questions.  It is a great car
and I just want my brother to have it in good shape.  Some of you guys are
really experts at this stuff.  Maybe some of you have had the same problems.
Thanks in advance.

Well, my 92 rt is knocking 3 weeks after i bought it from dealer . 3k
mile warrenty wont cover noises , they call it wear. I have to pay for
the teardown myself then if I have a case i can go to them. it just had
a short block 16K miles ago , i guess it wasnt done right. the sound
definately seems to be lower end> i think i should have an experienced
dealer do the repair. Any comments or advise?

Subject: Team3S: Fuel pump

Hi Roger,

I have a Supra turbo fuel pump which has supposedly a higher rated
volume & pressure than our stock 190 L/hr.

Questions:
1.  It looks like it will be a direct replacement.  Ie no special bolts
hoses etc, right??

2.  Will it make my stock injectors deliver more fuel??

3.  Do I need to change or modify my stock fuel pressure regulator??

4.  Should I buy a  'Rising rate fuel pressure regulator'?
     http://www.turbo-zet.com/pg000012.htm

The Supra pump is part #23221-46110 list$246.70; net$172.69 from Toyota
on the Heights 216-321-9100.

Be of good cheer
John

Yep :)

No :(

Not at all.

Well, this is an alternative but the spray pattern of the fuel injectors will be
degraded and over a longer period it is not good to them. But it's possible and
you can make the stock 360cc delivering fuel like 420 - 440cc. The calculation
says even more but you must compensate this with an additional fuel controller
for the lower area Otherwise you'd run way too rich for sure.

It definitely works ok as the Walbro does for about $115.

Hope this helps ;-)

Subject: Team3S: HKS turbo upgrade?

I can't find info on this anywhere. What are the turbo sizes that are
used in HKS' GT2835 ball bearing turbo upgrade kit? I am guessing 15g
or 18g, but I want to know for sure. Thanks, Later
