well I could say the GT PRO one looks way better!!!

After looking at both pictures, I'd say it is difficult to say which one is
better without comparing them up close and personal, then testing the same
car with each of them.  Seems to me to be a toss up.

The one thing I like about the AAM pipe is the claim at least that
turbulence was a design factor.  No other manufacturers make such claims,
and I rather doubt any of them actually designed it for reduced turbulence
other than by the seat of the pants, which can work wonders depending upon
whose seat is in said pants.

Sorry guys, it was not in my intention to blame a product that I don't know.
I used the wrong wording by saying the GT PRO one I have "is much better".
I'd like to correct this by saying it looks much better and is very, very
well made. I've seen a lot stuff and the 2-in-1 piece of the AAM is not what
I'd really like.

Speaking of turbulence beeing a design factor... sorry where are their data
? No, forget about that stuff, there is no turbulence problem as this is an
important factor in the runners, and the path down to the chambers. Or would
you say that the blade i nthe TB is not a factor of turbulence ?? And
speaking of design, the 90° bend does nothing bad to the flow. Just look
inside the plenum and you'll see that any special improvement before the TB
is a waste of resources, money and time. It would be a problem if the 90°
would have a sharp edge at the inner radius !

It's good that it is made of aluminum, light, durable, no corrision and good
quality. But no one can ever proof any performance increasement ! And for
look ... I'm not impressed.

Hey guys,

While we're on this subject, the reason why the y-pipe was primarily
designed was to
hold onto the intake plenium, correct?

I took my factory y-pipe off, and see that the plenium has no "flange" nor
"grooves" for a
firm holding that will secure the y-pipe from blowing off. (Many of you know
this already  :) )

I'm wondering how the different manufacturers have worked around this
problem.
Any opinions/thoughts on this matter?

Thanks in advance,
Noble

Well, not being an actual designer I dont know for sure, but I know that CAD
isnt necessarily a fluid dynamics engineering platform.  So to say CAD was
used to study actual performance..is unlikely.

Turbulence, although an issue, isnt nearly as much of an issue with a forced
induction car as it is for an N/A, and neither design seems to be all that
'badly' designed at all.

Before _anybody_ starts talking performance on this, toss em on a
flowbench..thats the gauntlet im tossin down.  Both will exhibit some loss
because of the bend involved, and Id like to see the new pipe laying
un-installed as well.

Unfortunately I forgot about this till the last minute again, but in addition
to the other coupons you may have heard about, here's another..  the bonus on
this one is that it appears there's no maximum discount, but there is a $150
minimum purchase..  the bummer is it expires today (1/30)..

btw, for anyone curious, I got all my stuff from the last order including
the Borla (which is now on and sounds great!) and plugs at the prices I
mentioned..

take advantage if you can!

http://www.carparts.com/enews/enews1221.asp

click on the 1/3 off link under coupons..  also, if you do order, keep in
mind you won't see a discount on individual items..  only the total..

once again, I have nothing to do with the site, just trying to help out
fellow 3S owners..
