Hey Gang,

Just a quick note to let you all know that I am selling my 94 R/T turbo.
It is Pearl Yellow, 6 speed, etc, etc...  51k miles, super clean both
inside and out.  Not a dent or ding in the entire car.  Brand new 6 speed
trans under warranty less than 2k miles ago.  Car is flawless, needs
nothing.

Here are the mods:

13g turbos (brand new from heavy industries-Mitsu)
Alamomotorsports (Cartech) high efficiency intercoolers)
AMS hard pipe kit (with silicone hoses)
Magnecore wires
G-Force ECU upgrade
HKS Exhaust
Pre-cats hollow, main cat eliminated (but I have the factory downpipe which
I will of course include with car)
Greddy Profec B boost controller (cockpit adjustable boost control)
AFC Fuel controller (also cockpit adjustable
550cc Nippondenso injectors
plugs new and gapped to .033
A-pillar boost gauge holder with SPI motorsports boost gauge (yellow face)
& Cyberdyne Air/Fuel gauge
ATR downpipe (2.5" going into 3" main pipe) NICE PIECE w/3" flex coupler
K&N Filtercharger

The car has black leather interior, with infinity sound system.  Factory 6
disk changer, etc...  Never smoked in, and clean as a whistle inside.
Removeable moonroof, factory 17" chrome "Dodge" wheels.  Well over 6
thousand in mods.

Asking $17,500.  I will consider any reasonable offer.  This car is clean.
I may drop the price if the person wants it with the stock intercoolers,
stock injectors, etc..  but once you take a ride in it with the mods, you
won't want me to take them off.  Trust me.   :)

Hey everyone, I'm going to sell my prototype Front mount intercooler.

I know it works with the 99 front end and the 92 front end now.

Please note that the kit does require modification to the car.  I'll take
pictures of the intercooler, pipes etc.  Figuring out how to install it on
your car will be your problem, not mine.

Some plumbing will need to be made, but I'll furnish all that I can,
basically you're buying a partial kit.  Be ready to do some minor fab work.

I'm asking 500.00 shipped for everything that I have.   I can furnish better
pictures than are on my web site when I get the front bumper off the car.

(I am upgrading to a larger core with aluminum pipes)

Also for sale:  Alamo Intercooler kit, the kit has all the pipes, but may
need some minor 90degree brackets made.  The pipes had water in them, so
they will need to be cleaned out.  I'll take any reasonable offers on the
Intercoolers.  More than 250.00 is reasonable.

Hey all,
I bought a 93 R/T TT a couple months ago, the car has been great but

there are a couple things concerning me...
First off, a side note, the first time I looked at the car the old
owner let me try driving it, then he took me for a 'performance run' of
sorts, now after that there was a little smoke/steam or something
pouring out of the drivers-side front fender, but this wasn't something
we could ever get to happen again.
Now, the things I noticed was that if the clutch is down at higher
RPMs, something I try to avoid, but hey it happens, I will have a really

strong, really bad smell coming from under the hood around the car.  I
can redline it and all, only time the smell shows up is when the clutch
is involved.
Second, it's colder nowadays here in MN, and it seems like it smells

a little gassy when it's been sitting for a while, in the cold anyway.
Another thing, don't know if it's related or not, but in the mornings
after being in a garage all night(decent temp), I drive to where I need
to be and if I am to rev it or anything, my friend(usually standing near

the back of the car) claims to get blown away by the smell or exhaust or

whatever when I do that.

I apprecite your help, I haven't taken it in yet to be looked at or
anything, but with my 7 year bumper-to-bumper running out next month I
probably will soon.

Anything that has tech information, or directs us to where we can't
find it IS a technical post, and appropriate for the Team3S list.
These kinds of posts are best identified in the subject line as
"Off-Topic", as above, just to let folks know it's a peripheral
concept...  And the guy's turbo/IC info is an interesting reference
point for us.

But there are always going to be faster cars than ours,
*somewhere* - anytime you strap "a Vette engine to a skateboard"
(read: Honda) the car will be fast.  Possibly even faster than one
of our cars, if you keep it pointing in a straight line.  But put my
car to shame???  I don't think so!  That's why we prefer not to
encourage list discussions about every little piece of junk out
there (that may or may not be faster than a 3S).

I don't need to be humble-- I own a Stealth.  :-)

{Admin soapbox mode - off...  :-)  Please reply privately to

Dude, that's AWESOME!!! It's like $122 and it comes with the connector you need and it supposedly reads our data stream! Only thing that's missing is a knock retard measurement. Heck, that's the whole reason I want a scan tool! I wrote the guy that made it and asked him to
incorporate a knock retard measurement. I'll post the results....

Hi Tim;

Sounds like the clutch is marginal. You will get a little clutch smell if
you are running it aggressively, but if it's showing up under normal
conditions, then it's time to replace it. Often in this situation, it is
also best to replace the flywheel for an additional $100, as many have
lamented not doing this later when told at the time it appeared with specs.
It cannot be resurfaced.

What do you mean  a "gassy" smell? As in petroleum?  As in passed gas? What?
If it's  foul smell it may be related to the cats and not really a worry. If
petroleum, it may be injector related. Run a quality Injector Cleaner
through it (gas tank additive). Many do not ever add this to their fillups,
and in the long run this will simply mean having to have the injectors
professionally done as they plug up.

Best

Darc

To specify what Trevor meant there is no display of knock sum and I wonder why ??? The timing will be retarded when there is knock and therefore it may be visible for an experienced user ! An amount of how much the timign is retarded in degrees may be wishful but not common.

Hope this is THE tuning tool for the 2nd geners !

I didn't see any mention on their web site that would indicate it works with any

I was driving home from lunch with my ROWG buddies today, and spotted a 91
Stealth TT at Jim Miller Nissan Subaru in Cedar Rapids, Iowa..

It's black, tan interior, has 102,000 miles, new tires, and appears to be
in pretty good shape. The usual nicks and wear, of course, that you would
expect in a nine-year old car. It's not a concours show winner by any
means, but it's not trashed either. Just nine years old.  No signs of
performance mods -- it even has the original air cleaner. Price is $7888.

If interested, call the salesman, Nathan Johnson at 319/393-0640

We had this discussion last week, because my car had a similar problem.
Everyone told me that it is the ignition switch. Try clicking it to 'start'
several times, and see if it catches. I wish I knew this after replacing the
starter 3 times!

Yeah, I noticed that it had current spark advance. They might have knock retard already figured into that measurement. I wouldn't think that would be the best way to do it. Personally I don't want to guess at my knock amount, I want hard numbers. I've got a scan tool for the
Typhoon and it's a god send. Do you have one for the Z-28 yet Roger ;-)It has a measurement for both spark advance and knock retard.
I didn't see anything on there about 95's but it would be worth it to buy it and give it a try. You could sell it to someone with a 96+ for like $90 if it didn't work. I played around with that program for awhile and if it works as advertised it will fit my needs perfectly (as
long as knock gets added). It has all the other stuff that might be needed like:
Mass Air Flow rates
Inlet Air Temp
Spark Advance
RPM
MPH
O2 Readings (both upper and lower sensors)
Coolant Temp
Throttle Position Sensor %

Hi all,

my TT would up ontop of a tire wall near turn 10, along with other
damage, one of the lights was GONE and the other one was hanging out.
So rather than spending $165 each I decided to put screens in the
openings and allow another source of cooool air to reach my
intercoolers.

>Hey, what's with all the CCs I see we're carrying around? Do we have a
little braking/road racing  sub-list going here? Maximum cool.
- -->A sublist would be great.  I just thought there would be toooo many
words for posting on the 3S.  I think there are now about a dozen Team
3S members that road race and I have been collecting their addresses.

- -->I believe I saw a post that we, 3Sers, can have a HomePage on the new
3S server.  If so I plan to put on a lot of the stuff like brakes,
tires, trailers, etc I found that work/doesn't work from my racing
experiences.

Be of good cheer,
John

Well, he wrote back and said this:

The scan tool does support ignition timing advance and retard.
this is data item $0E spark advance.

I guess he means that the spark advance that's listed is total timing. I.E. Base Advance minus Knock Retard. I wrote him back and asked if he could separate the two numbers. It's also possible that OBDII supplies only that one total spark advance data stream...More to follow...
