Team3S: Rim question
I believe that I am FINALLY getting around to buying
new rims for my 91
Stealth TT. I will definitely go with 18 inch (maybe
3 piece wheel), but it
has been suggested to me that I get 18 x 8.5 or 18 x
9.0 in the front and 18
x 10 in the rear. Is this
advisable?

The
info is specific to the 5-speed non-turbo trannies, however I'm not
going to
say that nuts can't back off shafts in the AWD trannies...

Team3S: A/C Problems
I've been having problems lately w/ my Air
Conditioner. Here are some
symptoms, and hopefully someone will be
able to help me out.
1.) Sometimes when I accelerate and my A/C is on,
and I get to high RPM's,
something squeels.. I know the it is a belt
squeeling, but I don't know
what it's for or if this is a
problem.
2.) Today was the first time I noticed this.. I was
at Boston Market in
the drive through line, just idling with the A/C on
high. I started to hear
a clicking sound....like and old clock that
goes "Tick", "Tock", "Tick",
"Tock".. It sounds like it's coming from the
front left side of the engine..
Please help me
out..
Thanks

was going to post today about the same thing, so
any answers please also
send them my way. I just had the a/c condensor
and evaporator replaced last
week so if blame can fall on the people that
fixed it, let me know so I can
get that paid for as well.
as to my
previous post about 1/4 mile times. replaced all the plugs, wires
and a
few broken vacuum lines and ran a 14.2 at 99mph, so I know that
helped
alot. Where is the best place to order a K&N filter charger
system. I
don't want one that fits in the stock box, but a cone
filter. Also who
gives the best prices.
Thanks,
Gabe

Re: Team3S: Rim question
Hey Mike
I personally
got 18 x 9.0 all around. I've got the Blitz Techno Z1 and the reason is
that
it's perfectly wide and making them all the same width makes it easy to
rotate
tires. Also stock has them all the same so it might be advisable to
follow what the
factory has. Also 18 x 10 in the rear is gonna stick out of
the fenders a little and
definatly stick out alot in the front. You don't
want to look like a low rider do ya. =)
18 x 9.0 are good for 275/40/18.
But that is really stretching it. 265 is a good in
between.

Re: Team3S: Rim question
Hi Michael,
No the lug
nuts aren't exposed there are recessed spaces in the rim where
the lug nuts
hide. You can see them but they don't stick out. =)

I unplugged the ECS control unit in the passenger side luggage
area and the
light went out ---- no side effects noticed. The schematic shows
lots
of inputs with the shocks as the only output so it should not cause a
problem.

Problems
I think what your talking about is the screws around the AC
compressor/clutch
pulley, i was hearing the same noise and i took it to the
dealer and they
wanted 1500.00 for the fix( said i had to replace the a/c
compressor,dryer,freon....etc)...So I went to get a second opinion and the
guy said yeah i can fix it for 200.00, what he did was remove the compressor
(not easy, you have to get it from underneath) and then take it to a machine
shop move the holes 50% clockwise, drill and retap the holes, and make sure
you buy new screws,( he got them from the dealer)
Good Luck
