Their data is inaccurate if they claim a bold circle of 108.01mm on the 93+
cars.  Assuming we are measuring bolt center to center on the wheel studs
and not something else.

I have 94+ rotors and 95 18" wheels on my 92 VR4 (right now, as you are
reading this)

I have installed this combination on 4 other cars also.  (with no other
modification to the car)

OK, hopefully this will put the 1st - 2nd gen rotor issue to bed. These
are my sheet from Porterfield since I wanted to upgrade to the 2nd gen
rotors. My rotors dimensions are:

OD-296mm Height-45.2mm Nominal thickness-30mm Min Thk-28.4 mm
Hub Hole-68.8 mm # mount holes-5 Hole or stud size-0.500 bolt circle-
114.3 mm

93+ front rotor specs
OD-314 mm Height-45.6mm Nominal thickness-30mm Min Thk-28.4mm
Hub Hole-68.8mm mount holes-5 Hole or stud size-0.49 Bolt circle-
108.01mm

Ken

I talked to Porterfield 6 months or so ago and it didn't seem like it would be a big
deal --- they have the dimensions for the 3/S rotors to start with then you just
choose what rotor configuration you want to go with the hat, the end result is a
custom two piece rotor. Their cost is higher --- is the KVR a one off or are more
units required to get the $200 price. In addition, I don't remember the material for
the hats, is the KVR aluminum or steel.

That last line confuses me --- could you elaborate a little.

Need an interior part, engine bay thingie, a few pounds of screws & bolts?

If its off the car..its yours..and its FREE.

1995 VR4, tan, leather seats, please dont ask "do you have this <xxx>
thing?", because if you really wanna know, you gotta come by and get it.

Yes, I still have the seats, door panels, lotta shit.

I live in San Jose, CA.

Come and -get- it before it finds a dumpster.

Nothing wrong with it, just dont need it.  Stripped out project car in
driveway.

Need a sweet custom 3" cat-back exhaust for free?

You guessed it..come and get it.

4474 Yerba Buena Ave, San Jose  CA  915121.  I will be home all day
tomorrow, and NOT Sunday..will be at Sears Point.

So show up anytime between 9am and 8pm tomorrow..and get FREE STUFF.

First come, first served..no lay-away plans, no shipping (unless youre
unreasonably wealthy..and you wish me to remedy that because Id rather not
ship anything else).  You can Email me privately at gemohler@speedtoys.com
if you have Q's about what I might have (or just plain show up and come
get it..easier) after tomorrow..and I'll let you know when someone is home

Heres something I added to the starnet list, thats very apropos in here as
well, given that winter is arriving.

Check...your..battery.

And..if youre a purist like me, its a good time to drain "some" of the
pure water+water wetter coolant, and dump in some nice 50/50 "pet killer"
formula.  Dont drain it all, just some..and add A/F as required to hit
50/50.

In the spring, flush & clean it all, and go back to race-mode.  *grin*

Everyone:

Lets not forget that a maintenance-free battery is -not- a maintenance
free battery.

Just marketing.

If you have a standard lead-acid battery, please remember to check once a
year (if not 2x so) the water level on the plates.

Maint-free batteries just have a fancy flame-retardant vent on em, they
still lose water like the battery your grandparents were checking in thier
cars 20+ years ago.

Most maint-free cells are redily able to pop off the top, and add PURE
water.  Its not "dirty" tap water that is the issue here, but the chemical
properties a battery needs to work right.

Subject: Team3S: 17" Wheel question

Hi all,

I've got a pretty odd question for all you. Does anyone know of any 17" STEEL wheels that will fit
on a 91 TT? I'm interested in doing a little "fun" driving this winter and I can't afford to shell
out $500 per wheel if I damage one of the stock ones I have. Any ideas? I would like to go with
steel since it would probably be cheaper, other than that I'd like to find some wheels that are a
touch skinnier than the stock wheels (I believe that they are 8.5", I'd like to go to 7.5" or 8")
so I can get a different tire on it for better traction in deeper snow/ice.

Thanks,
Bill

It's time for new tires for my 94 SL.  What would the biggest size I

different size on the stock rims?

Thanks for any help,
